Collection Hospitality & Brand

Silk

A premium hospitality template for luxury hotels, destination resorts, and experience brands that lead with atmosphere over specification. Built on the understanding that the most compelling thing a resort can show is not its amenities, but its light.

Design Rationale

Silk emerged from a different problem than Aria. Where Aria needed to communicate precision and warmth at the same time, Silk's brief was simpler: make it feel like the resort before you arrive. The client was a private island property in the Maldives. The photography was extraordinary. The previous website was not.

The layout system prioritises full-bleed over structured. There are no visible grids on the surface — the organisation is felt rather than seen. This is a deliberate reversal of the architecture-first approach in Forma and Atlas. In Silk, the image is the grid. Everything else is annotation.

Dark mode is not optional in this template — it is the preferred state. The default experience loads in dark mode, and the light mode is available as a secondary option for contexts where it is required. This choice was made because the properties that Silk is designed for are more beautiful at night.
